FAIL: No Hot Chocolate Today

Instead of hot chocolate, I am in line for the bus before a miserable blizzard is to come.

The PA says: outbound busses are delayed due to police activity in the tunnel.

I picked a shitty day to work late and miss hot chocolate. I was looking forward to Earl Grey tea hot chocolate terribly too.

Hot Chocolate Festival: Chili Pepper Hot Chocolate

This hot chocolate was good but unsurprising. I think we've all had a "Mexican" hot chocolate before. Still, this one is pretty good.

The cookie is amazing. Not as genius as the pretzel croissants, but still tasty.

Lisa, what do you think?

Ooh, so thick. It coats your mouth in chocolatey goodness. The chili peppers are a pleasant surprise--in my mouth!

The cookie is like one of the best cookies I've ever eaten--and I've eaten a lot of cookies.

Verdict

This isn't bad at all. In fact, it is pretty good: lemon tart plus chocolate is what I'm tasting.

Jon, what do you think?

This hot chocolate could actually be more lemony and less sweet of you ask me. It lacks the bitterness of lemon peel that would pair nicely with chocolate. It tastes very close to those "after dinner" candies, the old crunchy stick things that came in three or four flavors, one of which was lemon. It tasted exactly like the lemon stick.

Hot Chocolate Festival: Lemon Hot Chocolate

TimeOut New York basically pooped on this drink in their review. I'm not a huge fan of citrus and chocolate, but I think it's still worth checking out if we do go to Basta Pasta for dinner. My goal was to try to get all the flavors--or as many flavors as possible, but the whole "don't waste your time" vibe of the article is discouraging me. Basically, it's really cold out, and I'd rather not shell out money for a crappy flavor. I will be with the #1 lover of citrus and chocolate though, so we'll see!
